Upwork Web Application Clone
An end-to-end web application that faithfully replicates the user experience and interface of Upwork. Designed to demonstrate advanced frontend architecture, dynamic routing, distributed state management using Redux Toolkit, and standalone offline-first capabilities for static portfolio deployments.
Problem
When preparing the project for live portfolio demonstrations, critical technical bottlenecks arose: an obsolete third-party auth server caused persistent network failures, strict PrivateRoutes blocked guest recruiters from previewing features without sign-in, and reliance on an active JSON server made deployment on static cloud platforms impossible.
Solution
Re-engineered the platform to be fully standalone with zero backend dependencies. Implemented a resilient client-side mockService syncing with LocalStorage, crafted client-side authentication supporting guest sessions while retaining rigorous Yup form validations, and restructured routing to grant instant access to job feeds and freelancer profiles.
Implementation highlights
- Standalone client-side authentication with one-click 'Continue as Guest' and robust Yup schema validation.
- Custom reactive mockService layer supporting search, sorting, and LocalStorage persistence across 30+ jobs.
- Sliding interactive Job Drawer/Modal displaying budget breakdown, skills, client metadata, and share links.
- Fully responsive layout crafted with Styled-Components, featuring dynamic mobile navigation drawers.
- Zero-backend dependency architecture optimized for lightning-fast deployments on Vercel, Netlify, and GitHub Pages.
Results
Achieved 100% static hosting readiness with zero network dropouts, enabling recruiters and visitors to interact instantly with the application's full feature set without authentication barriers.
